Mononoke Cafe: Heaven on Earth?
The legend goes that at the age of 30, I bought my first house and became lactose intolerant. This both saved me from my addiction to pizza, and it ruined my ability to indulge in gastronomic delectables. In my utter desolation, my only solace was viewing and collecting Studio Ghibli films, like Princess Mononoke, and playing tabletop games with my family.
Well wouldn't you know - I no longer own a house, and I've discovered Mononoke Cafe.
Mononoke Cafe is a Zaragoza pizza and beer pub that hosts afficionados of tabletop games, and even carries quite the wide variety of games to rent (for 1 Euro) while you hang out, eat, enjoy, and marinate in the Studio Ghibli atmosphere.
And NOT ONLY do they have great pizza - they have great lactose-free pizza and great (I presume) gluten-free pizza. In other words, I am once again recklessly indulging in greasy, gooey goodness.
MMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
So this (pictured above) is the point where I should stop eating but can't. And you know what? I have no excuses. I survived for years without "real" pizza. I suppose we all have our weaknesses. (And it's not just pizza - it's REALLY GOOD pizza!)
Meanwhile, I do my best in my broken castellano to discuss Princess Mononoke and all things Studio Ghibli with the proprietor. He gave us some cool beer label stickers. And we're all excited about the worldwide release of The Boy and the Heron. (Here's the release info for you other fans out there: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6587046/releaseinfo/.)
So please come visit us so I have another excuse to eat pizza. And play games!
Wow, what a great discovery - that sounds like so much fun! Can't wait to come and check it out at some point!
