What is "Ice Cream"? WRONG!
With plenty of Café Tapas Bars (as I will be calling them) and Mini markets all selling refreshments, the staying cool is easy, but sometimes you just need a cool sweet treat. Day 1 in Spain we walked into a dried fruit store with dried candies and some refrigerated cakes. I walked over to the freezer and got myself a nice popsicle. Why? Well, because it was coconut with some(?) fruit (too long ago in sleep mode) and it was dipped in white chocolate. It was good.
Day 2 breakfast involved many pastries, some fruit, and was followed by over 25,000 steps with a little thing called gelato in the middle. Gelato is to me is simply a smoother ice cream with more flavor shoved into it. For the first few days while we walked, we would casually stroll by an establishment selling gelato, and I would stop in to grab a cucurucho de menta (mint cone) and my mother something else that I’m sure was delicious.
Though sadly gelato is not an everyday thing, it is only €2.60 per person and is the perfect thing if you need a break. Though after having gelato, even I must look at ice cream with some questions. One drawback of hopping on the gelato bandwagon is now I have trouble grabbing another equally delicious desert because they all seem to pale in comparison.
Gelato sounds delicious - can't wait to try some! I always thought it was something like an Italian ice, but it sounds like I was totally wrong. It doesn't look that hard to make, actually. Here is a recipe I found: https://www.thespruceeats.com/authentic-gelato-recipe-4172134. I am sure you could add mint or whatever other flavors you wanted. If you decide to give it a try, let us know how it goes!
